Kunitz - Crosby - Carter
Sharp - Toews - Nash
Tavares - Getzlaf - Perry
Bergeron, St. Louis, Marleau, Benn, and Duchene are the remaining forwards cycling through on the 4th line

Keith - Weber
Vlasic - Doughty
Bouwmeester - Pietrangelo
Hamhuis - Subban

I'd really like to see Tavares with Sid.

The top two line seem temporarily set as:

Kunitz-Crosby-Carter
Sharp-Toews-Nash

Bottom two are up in the air a little bit more. One report had:

Tavares-Getzlaf-Perry
Some form of Marleau, Benn, Bergeron, St. Louis, and Duchene make up the bottom line.

The other being reported is:

Marleau-Getzlaf-Perry
Bergeron-Tavares-Benn

In either case, the Getzlaf line looks like an absolute force and may be Canada's best line.

It looks like they're on the same power play unit so hopefully they can mesh well and force Babcock's hand.

Hopefully Sid and Kunitz magic stalls because of the third linemate and Canada fails while watching team USA take gold.

I would put Duchene with Sid. Speed kills. Carter is a slow saline drip.

Agree that Tavares-Getlzalf-Perry could be their best line. But I'm also gonna guess Kunitz and Sid have a very underwhelming performance.

:?

Skating is one of the main reasons Carter made the team.....

Nash is going to bring down that Sharp-Toews line. Luckily they know how to play with each other, so they can ignore him.

Getlzalf's line to me is the second line, and maybe the most important. Basically the same expectations as Vancouver.

I'd to see MSL on Sid's line.

Yeah the Carter comment is bizarre. I think goal scorers that aren't also considered the upper elite are just assumed to be bad skaters.

Agreed. I was surprised to see it in that order. I love seeing Tavares on the left side with them, though.

I also don't mind Carter with Crosby & Kunitz since he's a finisher. MSL is more of a playmaker in my eyes, and they could really use a shooter on the right side.

I think Carter is a good choice, just can't pass back to Sid. :D

In addition to the Carter comment which has already been talked about. It's interesting that "speed kills" but the JT East and the twins line could be the best, as they are all markedly average skaters...

Though, that line would dominate if it makes it into a game...

@TSNBobMcKenzie 19m
So, as it turns out, JT starts at C with Bergeron-Benn on wings. Marleau on LW with Getzlaf-Perry

So the lines were actually:

Kunitz-Crosby-Carter
Sharp-Toews-Nash
Marleau-Getzlaf-Perry
Benn-Tavares-Bergeron

Though Yzerman cautioned to not look too much into lines.

Mike Babcock was quoted as saying "you spend all day putting your lines together, then you change them all 5 minutes into the game anyway".

Yeah, looking at the makeup of all the other teams, I think Canada is the most likely to do the most shuffling.

True, though you would have to think Crosby/Kunitz, Getzlaf/Perry and Toews/Sharp are pretty much set.

True, you'd think that...

Still leaves 8 players shuffling around for 6 spots though (extra man notwithstanding).

Imagine DB saying something like that. The board would be in complete meltdown mode.

It's a little different when you're talking about a tournament like the Olympics. They flew to Russia yesterday and have just 3 days to form "line chemistry" before the tournaments starts. Most teams are going to go through something similar, especially early on.

When you think top line wingers for Team Canada, Kunitz and Carter don't come to mind.

I don't really see a problem with either of them. Everyone knew Kunitz was going to be running side-car with Sid. And Carter can is just as good of a finisher as anyone else on the team.

You know who would have been a great finisher on Crosby's RW...James Neal. :pop:
