You don´t or are you sarcastic?

Anyway, what the Pens fan on HF-boards point meant was: Jagr never did anything good in Pittsburgh expect dying alive so that we could draft Crosby and win the cup.

Are you being sarcastic or are you genuinely shocked that an inside joke from another forum, regarding Jagr, was not well received here?

I took it as that HFBoards Pens fans don't realize there was hockey in Pittsburgh prior to 2005

I don't read HF boards ( for the same reasons I don't stick knives in toasters or forks in electrical sockets) so I actually didn't get it.

Yes. More precisely: Fans of other teams (especially those of NYR, PHI, NYI, DET, and BOS) don't believe for a moment that anyone in Pittsburgh knew who the Pens were--let alone rooted for them--before 2005, when the NHL shamelessly rigged the lottery for Sid to go to the Pens.

Jagr leads Czechs past Latvia 4-2 in men’s hockey
SOCHI, Russia — On the eve of his 42nd birthday, Jaromir Jagr again showed why age is a pretty small number to him.

Jagr scored his second goal of the Olympics, Jakub Voracek got the tiebreaker in the second period, and the Czech Republic survived an early scare Friday for a 4-2 victory over Latvia in the men’s hockey tournament.

Jagr is a five-time Olympian, but he never managed more than two goals in any of his previous trips to the games. He got two goals in his first four periods in Sochi, and his steady play allowed the Czechs to hold off Latvia’s upset bid.

And Petr Nedved still plays for the Czech national team. He is over 40 also.

How well do you know Jagr - quiz:

http://translate.google.com/translate?s ... 23kviz-346" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

(The first question units are kilos, not pounds. Weakness: Tatranka is the brand name of hazelnut waffles)

I got 9/12... 8-)

U.S. hockey keeps rolling in easy win over Czech Republic
Instead the Czech Republic has lost in the quarterfinals for the second straight Winter Games. Its last link to the 1998 gold medal winning team, Jaromir Jagr, has likely played in his last Olympic contest.

This Czech team, which made numerous questionable coaching and roster selection decisions, will be left hoping that its young players will be able to take over after the old guard couldn’t get the job done in its last hurrah. Meanwhile the Americans, filled with players in their prime, look onward and upwards.

Jaromir Jagr playing like a kid again
With his second goal in as many games, 42-year-old still going strong

SOCHI, Russia -- Jaromir Jagr turns 42 on Saturday.

Or at least that's what it says on his birth certificate.

It's certainly not what we see on the ice. He looked downright fantastic here Friday in a 4-2 win by his Czech Republic over Latvia.

"I don't get old, man. I am alive. God help me,'' he responded to Larry Lage of The Associated Press in the interview area mixed zone.
Jagr scored his second goal of the tournament, skating on the top line and acting as though these might be his second-to-last Olympics, not his last.

"He's our best player," Czech head coach Alois Hadamczik said. "It doesn't matter how old he is.''

Latvia's head coach also weighed in.

"He's like a fine bottle of wine; he gets better with age," said Ted Nolan, who is also the head coach of Buffalo Sabres. "I had the privilege of watching him in North America for a number of years. As I told someone before, he looks like a ballerina on ice. He's smooth, he's slick. He's a world-class player and today he proved how good he is again.''

Those who have covered Jagr over the years understand there are days when he feels like playing along media-wise and other days when he doesn't. Which is fine, he has earned that right.

This was an "on'' day.

I actually got more fun just standing behind the scrum and watching Jagr play along to the questions.

Question from Chris Johnston of Sportsnet: "Jaromir, what needs to happen for your team to win gold here?"

"We have to probably win at least four more games," Jagr said. "So no big deal."

Question from a Russian reporter: "Jaromir, are you going to score a goal every game?''

"Yeah, probably."

All said with that trademark smile.

Oh, Jaromir, don't ever change dude.
