Ken Ham - "Bill, there is a book out there that says where matter came from. It starts with 'And God created the heavens and the earth'! There it is and it is the only logical explanation." Seriously?
Honestly, Nye could be a cardboard cutout and Ham would still be hurting his position.

Was anyone there to observe that? No. So by Ken Ham's own argument.... it didn't happen.

I'm just worried people will look at this debate and think all religious people think like Ken Ham.

I don't think we needed this debate for people to already have that viewpoint on religious people...Grunthy wrote:I'm just worried people will look at this debate and think all religious people think like Ken Ham.

If God could be proven via debate then we wouldn't need Jesus. I hope some good comes of this but I fear more harm than good will come.

I' m glad Bill pointed out multiple times that there are millions of Christians that don't think like that.Grunthy wrote:I'm just worried people will look at this debate and think all religious people think like Ken Ham.

So am I, but some will refuse to hear that, as others will refuse what bill said about evolution.

Re: LGP Science Thread
Are we all aware that the age of the earth has nothing to do with faith in Christ right? Like, I think the earth is millions or billions of years old but if im wrong I'm no less saved and vice versa.

Re: LGP Science Thread
Nye seems to focus in on Ham specifically. He even keeps referring to "Ken Ham's model". Nye does not seem to be arguing against creationism as a whole.Willie Kool wrote:I' m glad Bill pointed out multiple times that there are millions of Christians that don't think like that.Grunthy wrote:I'm just worried people will look at this debate and think all religious people think like Ken Ham.

Re: LGP Science Thread
No one that has a strong enough opinion to engage in a public debate isnt crazy. Because the people that feel extremely strongly that they need to be right are the extremists.

Actually that's exactly what he is doing. Ham almost certainly considers it God's model. Nye is going out of his way to take God out of it.Jim wrote:Nye seems to focus in on Ham specifically.
