Yesterday, he received a 20+ game contract (including I believe 8-game PTO) with Vancouver. Today, he talked to MF Dnes daily from the taxicab headed to Vancouver airport, and this is what he said:
"The reason for this career ending is that I realized I am no longer able to give [the game of ] hockey 100%. I don't want to talk about this anymore."

I heard him on NHL Home Ice today. He told the 2 hosts that his decision came to him while he was in the locker room. He said to himself, "Why am I here when I don't want to be here?" He said he talked to his wife and wanted to be a father to his kids. Amazing respect for him, great player. Wish him the best.
