then you should be fine without the oil. I would think there's enough fat in the sausage to create its own sort of lubrication.cheesesteakwithegg wrote:Your every day teflon frying pan.count2infinity wrote:what kind of pan are you using?

Recommend browning first, then steaming or poaching to finish.

Re: Where my fellow cooks at???
I usually add a little water (not 3/4's covered) and then allowing that to evaporate. While that happens, some fat is released and that will brown up after the water evaporates.

Yeah, I have one of those too. It's ok for heating up chili or meatballs in sauce, but this one is my go to.mac5155 wrote:Ah I see now. The one I have is round

This is a peeve of mine. The biggest slow cooker I've seen is 7 quarts. Too small. I want a 20-quart slow cooker.mac5155 wrote:I dont know how im going to fit the thing in the crock pot. it's about 12"x7"x1.5" thick

Re: Where my fellow cooks at???
it's really not that hard. You make the rice based exactly on the instructions on the sushi rice package, season it with sushi vinegar (it's just seasoned rice vinegar), throw it onto some nori, spread it out, add your fillings and roll it up.FreeCandy44 wrote:I love sushi, I just cant make it.

If you're in California, make sure you wear your gloves before making sushi:

Yeah, that is some bullsh|t. We have a slew a new laws on the books that came into effect Jan 1, and the majority of them are asinine.

Okay, 20 might be a little big. Let's say 12. That would be three gallons.blackjack68 wrote:Cooking a whole cow?Shyster wrote:This is a peeve of mine. The biggest slow cooker I've seen is 7 quarts. I generally cook an entire week's worth of food at one time, and sometimes I make extra to freeze for the future. So, yeah, there are times when I'm making gumbo, chili, etc. in a volume that can be measured in gallons rather than in quarts. At those times it would be useful to have a larger slow cooker.

A whole cow will average 700 lbs of meat. You'd need at least a 300 quart slow cooker. Lol

Nothing like making your way through the meat department at a 99 Ranch Market to remind a person how many parts of a cow, pig, chicken, and duck there are for sale in non-traditional markets.

I LOVE 99 RANCH MARKET!!!!
However, if one were seeking to dispel certain...... stereotypes about the driving habits and savvy of a particular race of people, then the 99 Ranch parking lot is probably not the best place to go.
