No one even had Letang in the "on the bubble", he pretty clearly doesn't belong on this team this year (no matter your thoughts on his future as a Penguin)Kraftster wrote:Giroux, Seabrook, Letang.Troy Loney wrote:who are the big ones left off? Couture and St louis?

Vlasic over Seabrook and Boyle? Was Vlasic likely the last one in?

Also, when they discussed goaltending in the pre-game the sentiment was "Good for Mike Smith, but it's a bad sign that he's on the team". Jamie McLennan very bluntly said that Fleury's playoff failures cost him a spot on the team, which is a no brainer.

Re: Team Canada
From what I gather, Hamhuis was the bubble guy on D. They went with him so they could get the L-R pairings.

apparently Nash is a point-per-game player when playing internationally. wouldn't have been my choice but whatever.....Gaucho wrote:Not sure what Nash did to deserve being on the roster.

Question on Kunitz.. .Stevie Y said "yes, he plays with Crosby and they help each other... we asked if on his own does he deserve on this team, felt he belonged"

Re: Team Canada
Kunitz has been awesome the last few years BUT he's always had either Sid or Geno to get him the puck. could he be that player if Andrew Cogliano was his center? I think not.IanMoran wrote:Question on Kunitz.. .Stevie Y said "yes, he plays with Crosby and they help each other... we asked if on his own does he deserve on this team, felt he belonged"

Kind of bummed for St Louis. He's like the little engine that could. Just not now.

Re: Team Canada
As the 3rd goalie, my guess is they liked the fact that Smith played well for them in some recent IIHF tourney's since his NHL team didn't have a chance for a playoff failure.tfrizz wrote:Yup.MRandall25 wrote:Letang was never going to make the team. He had 0 shot.

No, but they don't need 4 lines of scorers either. Kunitz could fill multiple roles.shoeshine boy wrote:Kunitz has been awesome the last few years BUT he's always had either Sid or Geno to get him the puck. could he be that player if Andrew Cogliano was his center? Hall, Seguin, Thornton, Giordano, Staal, Richards (Mike), the list could go on.Kraftster wrote:Giroux, Seabrook, Letang.Troy Loney wrote:who are the big ones left off? Couture and St louis?

Re: Team Canada
Seabrook and Keith would be like Crosby and Kunitz would of made more senseMRandall25 wrote:From what I gather, Hamhuis was the bubble guy on D. They went with him so they could get the L-R pairings.
