Thoughts? To me it is a double edge sword. While playing in the Olympics will be a greag learning expereince for Olli, his play has dropped off a bit and I wonder if a small break would be better?

Also, do you think OV will make the Russia squad? :P

Congrats to both of them. :thumb:

I guess I'd rather seen Olli get some rest, but I'm sure he disagrees.

the experience is the key... and it will definitely benefit Maata.

They have enough defensemen that they could give him a rest and plug Despres in the line-up and not really miss a beat.

Everyone keeps talking about his recent drop in play. I think it's more than possible that his decline is due more to an increased role that was forced by injuries, as opposed to fatigue. Even so, the learning experience will be huge, and I fully expect him to return to form before long.

If Mikko Koivu isn't healthy enough to be on this team, it's a real donut team... If Mikko isn't there, Barkov and Filppula are going to have to really carry the heavy mail...surprised they didn't take a domestic player to be their #3 'tender...

Niemi has definitely cooled off in the past month. I dont know if this is the case, but it seems like Lehtonen has too.

Theyre really pushing 4 weeks as the timetable for Mikko, hopefully he makes it.
