Fortune cookies that don't contain fortunes. Every one I've opened for the last several years has contained a message that reads like a random quote from a crappy self-help book. That's not a fortune!

Those combination bath tub / showers.

Not the tub/shower itself, but people who use them and leave the "diverter" on the shower portion, so that when you step into the shower and turn on the water you get blasted with cold water.

That moment when you turn the water on full blast and nothing happens with your vulnerable back exposed is too life or death that early in the morning. The adrenaline produced in jumping to the back of the shower is almost as waking as being hit by the cold water

Someone has to have already mentioned this, but if there was a 64 team bracket of pet peeves, this would definitely be a #1 seed:

When the corner of your fitted sheet comes undone in the middle of the night, and there's no way to fix it without getting yourself and your significant other out of bed. Good god that sucks.

I had those and the sheets would still come undone. They are usually cheaply made.
