The big redesign is the stripes at the bottom and a old leaf logo patch on the shoulder.

A lot of debate on HF boards about the contract. I think it's fine. He's only 28, team captain, plays 25 minutes a game etc. $7MM is fine, as the cap is going up.

He is definitely a lightning rod for some reason.

Yeah, he plays a tough style and will decline some, but if I was a Leafs fan, I would like this contract a lot. Phaneuf's been good for them.

I like making fun of them as much as anyone, but the Leafs probably would have been in the ECF last year if not for that Boston miracle.

More like a Leafs collapse, in my mind. The Leafs stopped skating and didn't support the puck at all in the third period, allowing Boston to hem them in their defensive zone for long periods. Toronto enabled the Boston comeback.

I don't think the Phaneuf contract is bad. And I think it makes the Letang contract look about right, too.

I think its more likely that we see him walking to the room in real time, walks through the room to the table in slow mo, sign it in 2x time, then walk away in slow mo. Fade out.

I can't remember the guest's name but someone on Sirius NHL on Friday night was ripping Phaneuf, saying more than once, if I had a team I wouldn't want him within 50 miles of it. Said he was poison, etc. I don't exactly follow the Leafs but that seemed unusually harsh.
