Oh, Milbury. The one GM the Flames could hire and it would be worse than Feaster.

The clock was ticking for Feaster as soon as Burke was hired earlier this year.

I don't think Burke will take over as GM. However, whoever does take over will most likely just be Burke's puppet.

Odd timing for the fire, but it had to happen.

You mean won't take over permanently? It was announced almost immediately that Burke would be the interim GM. I'd assume its a better than 50% chance they either hire a GM and don't hire an assistant or the interim tag is just removed.

Right, I don't think he'll take over permanently. I feel like he is going to rush it because how often are two teams looking for GMs mid-season? That's pretty rare. And Buffalo doesn't seem to be in much of a hurry. Just a hunch on my part. He did use his famous buzzwords of the team needing to be more "beefy" and "truculent" and liking "teams that bang"
