So I wonder what TSN will do with the old HNIC theme song?

I think NHL Network might grab these guys. Some of them are already on there.MRandall25 wrote:I kinda hope NBCSN picks up Bobby Mac, Dreger, Wardo, etc. and gets rid of the clowns currently in the studio.

This is very disappointing there will be no more TSN feeds. The broadcasts were always at the highest quality, and I only wish NBC could reach that level.
TSN had that intensity to their games to make you think what was happening was a big deal.

On the bright side, Sportsnet's hockey budget should go through the roof which means the production quality should increase greatly.Spangler wrote:This is very disappointing there will be no more TSN feeds. Hopefully the deals raise the cap a little too, making the long-term deals signed by 87, 71, and 58 a little less of a total percentage.

Probably about $3 million in cap escalation on this deal alone.pressure=9Pa wrote:Hopefully the deals raise the cap a little too, making the long-term deals signed by 87, 71, and 58 a little less of a total percentage.

That would be fantastic. I'd settle for NBCSN hiring 4 chimps and a Rhesus monkey over their current crew, though.MRandall25 wrote:I kinda hope NBCSN picks up Bobby Mac, Dreger, Wardo, etc. and gets rid of the clowns currently in the studio.

Am I correct in saying that this is 2014-15 revenue, which means 2015-16 salary cap impact?mikey287 wrote:Probably about $3 million in cap escalation on this deal alone.pressure=9Pa wrote:Hopefully the deals raise the cap a little too, making the long-term deals signed by 87, 71, and 58 a little less of a total percentage.

Re: TSN loses NHL rights
I'm sure the first year of the new broadcast is going to be rough, much like NBCSN and NHLNs first year. Everyone in Canada will freak out that Rogers is destroying the NHL and fans will vow never to watch it ever again. Then the quality will get better and better as they figure it out and there will be a solid product.
You don't dump that much money into a deal without a plan (I would think).

I watch a lot of hockey too, but rarely watch Canadian broadcasts just because it's not available to me.
So, this information doesn't impact me 1%.
