Re: Other NHL games 2013-2014 season
If there's anything to blame, it's Ottawa's complete regression of every player on the team except maybe Spezza and the terrific young Lehner. The Senators can't cover their own slot or net front...Gryba-Cowen is a disaster, Karlsson has been brutal defensively this year...it's his absent-mindedness that allowed the rather decrepit Kimmo Timonen to walk out of the corner and jam one right into Lehner's mush for the winner. I don't know what happened, but the Sens have just imploded this year, they look much worse than record (which has been buoyed by Lehner and Spezza mostly)...

Yeah, they look horrible right now. And I have Spezza on my fantasy team, so I am getting worried...

Boston appears to be in playoff form with that force field thingy firmly installed. Fewest goals allowed in the league. NY had chances, but couldn't cash in.

MacArthur had a beaut vs. the Flyers last night. Unfortunately, that was the only think beautiful about that game.Gaucho wrote:

Karlsson is a defensive turn. He let Heatley make him look stupid on the Wild's third goal.
I don't follow Karlsson enough... is he supposed to be better defensively or is he just another Mike Green clone? Basically a forward playing D?

Always been a greenclone to me. The book has been the same as early career green too. Get to him in the corners and hes suddenly a liability everywhere.

This has been the worst he's been defensively in his career. That whole Ottawa team looks like trash, but Karlsson has been bad this year on his side of center...bhaw wrote:Karlsson is a defensive turn. He let Heatley make him look stupid on the Wild's third goal.

He's heading down a path of Mike Green. He's pretty sloppy defensively, but I always thought he was.bhaw wrote:Karlsson is a defensive turn. He let Heatley make him look stupid on the Wild's third goal.

Is this the first time you've heard Jack "MATT COOKE IS LIKE SIRHAN SIRHAN" Edwards?sniper wrote:"Iginla wins so many battles because of his compete level, because of his strength" ~ Bruins announcer.

He tends to exaggerate. A lot.

No it's not. He messes up a lot too. In the first 5 minutes of the game he got 3 or 4 things wrong.MRandall25 wrote:Is this the first time you've heard Jack "MATT COOKE IS LIKE SIRHAN SIRHAN" Edwards?sniper wrote:"Iginla wins so many battles because of his compete level, because of his strength" ~ Bruins announcer.

Oh and it was actually the other guy who said that, not Edwards.MRandall25 wrote:Is this the first time you've heard Jack "MATT COOKE IS LIKE SIRHAN SIRHAN" Edwards?sniper wrote:"Iginla wins so many battles because of his compete level, because of his strength" ~ Bruins announcer.

Every time I watch a Boston game on NHL network, it seems like it's always the Boston announcers. They must really love Edwards for some reason.
