*** Match Game Wars Gameplay Thread ***

Welcome to Match Game Wars!

General rules are in the sign-up thread, but to recap:

4 players are chosen randomly each Day to be panelists (Charles Nelson Reilly, Brett Somers, Richard Dawson, Betty White)

- game starts with Day 1
- 4 panelists are selected randomly each Day from all the remaining players (possibly including baddies). When few enough players are left, the number of panelists decrease to [number of players - 1]
- panelists are known only to themselves
- 1 random player (of any category except panelists) is the contestant for the Day (this is public) and gives an answer to the question and earns points for matching panelists (panelist answers are given to mod by PM prior to the Day start)
- at the end of the Day, the identity of the Day's panelists and their answers are revealed and points are awarded for matches
- points accumulate and every player can purchase powers using the earned points:

3 pts: protect self (against day or night kill)
4 pts: protect self/another (choose one)
5 pts: kill OR investigate (choose one)

These powers can be used at any time or points can accumulate.

- execs can communicate and kill every Night, starting with the Night after Day 1
- players vote to eliminate a player every Day EXCEPT Day 1

Typical Day goes:

- panelists randomly selected and question PM'd to them (day does not start until all panelist PMs received)
- the Day's contestant is identified and pressed for an answer
- players MAY NOT make suggestions of an answer prior to the answer being given
- after the answer is given, rest of players are welcome to boo, hiss, cheer, applaud, and/or offer better answers
- in the meantime, players vote to eliminate someone in the usual fashion (after Day 1)
