That's awful. Sucks for the league. Helluva player to watch. Game needs more players like him.

Stamkos is a beast, he'll be back sooner then people think.

Don't see how, but someone reported that he might still be able to play in the Olympics.SolidSnake wrote:Stamkos is a beast, he'll be back sooner then people think.

Re: Stamkos Injury
That's 3 months away. Its an optimistic approach to his return, but certainly plausible. Highly unlikely though. I doubt the Lightning will allow him to play in the Olympics as its another 3 weeks recovery that would be beneficial to him. I could see him being on the roster and practicing with the team if that is possible.sjnhiils wrote:Don't see how, but someone reported that he might still be able to play in the Olympics.SolidSnake wrote:Stamkos is a beast, he'll be back sooner then people think.

Stamkos has that Yzerman-like warrior mentality...a silly little thing like a broken leg won't stop him. He will play for Team Canada in February.

Re: Stamkos Injury
His ability to return depends where the break occurred, the severity of it, and if any tendons, nerves, muscles were damaged.
Yes, he could play in the Olympics. He could also be out until next season. The sportswriter who tweeted he'd be ready for the Olympics was just guessing.

Re: Stamkos Injury
Anyone notice the time on the clock? It stopped @ 7:11 remaining in the 2nd period. Apparently 711 is not a lucky number for Stamkos.
Very sad for Stamkos. I'm thinking that when he does come back he will be as good as ever. Get well quick young man.

Not to my knowledge. But it is generally considered good luck...particularly on the come out roll at the craps table.

Shortly after play resumed Salo was injured and left the game. Weird.shafnutz05 wrote:

Re: Stamkos Injury
Read that Stamkos had a rod inserted into his leg during surgery. Read how it's done on the AAOS website. Seems like when the drugs wear off it would really hurt.

Weirdest looking injury I ever saw. Never seen a leg in a boot whip like that. OUCHHHH!!! Its a sport that these things happen, wonder if Tampa can keep it going.

I think that's a long shot. Not that it couldn't happen.mikey287 wrote:Stamkos has that Yzerman-like warrior mentality...a silly little thing like a broken leg won't stop him. He will play for Team Canada in February.

Re: Stamkos Injury
I agree but I will also concede that if you'd told me a few years ago that Wes Welker would come back from a torn ACL in the time he did I would've told you that you were crazy.Kovy27 wrote:I think that's a long shot.
