Street hockey stick and puck recommendations?

I want to buy some street hockey sticks and pucks to take with me to Costa Rica. Any recommendations for best brand of stick? And between pucks and balls, which is better? We would be playing mostly on a level garage/driveway and on a tennis court. Thanks!

If you're playing on any sort of concrete, ball is your best bet because pucks don't really slide well.

As for sticks, I'd go with the Mylec street sticks with a wood shaft and the black plastic blade. They won't be worn down as fast as an all wood stick.would be on concrete.

Yeah its not worth playing with a puck if its not on a smooth surface. A ball on concrete is a better approximation to a puck than an actual puck is, even if its designed as a "street hockey" puck.

What happenned to those street revolution sticks that would actually wear rather than splintering? You rarely see them any more.

I remember those sticks. Still have my old Koho with the blade worn down to less than the height of a puck (if it were laying flat).

They're relatively cheap, probably not more than $20 a stick.

I'd look for anything with an ABS blade. Most sticks that have it will have the ABS mentioned in the stick title or description. I know Easton makes one and shouldn't run more than $30.

I'm going to be introducing the game to some kids and adults who don't know much about the sport, so all I'm interested in is something half-decent and cheap. Thanks also for the advice of balls over pucks - I would have gone for a puck. We'll be playing on level concrete and asphalt surfaces.

And yes, meow, there is an ice skating rink in the mountains in Costa Rica! But it's over an hour away from me and the ice is horrible - as are the rental skates.

Thats the stick I always used to play street hockey with too when I was a kid.
