Re: Other NHL games 2013-2014 season
Drafted and developed since Malone: you got the original TK (Kostopoulos) a fourth liner, Colby Armstrong a third liner, Max Talbot a fourth liner, Erik Christensen a Quadruple-A player, Carcillo a danger to himself and others, the next TK a third liner, Joe Vitale a fourth liner, Dustin Jeffrey a fourth liner or quad-A player...
Crosby, Malkin, Staal were already mentioned.
No points awarded for: Koltsov, Ouellet, Surovy
We didn't develop Moulson but did draft him.
So...uh...to answer your question..."pretty much..."

Re: Other NHL games 2013-2014 season
Talbot counts, Armstrong probably counts for my purposes. I do my best to forget that Carcillo was ever a part of the Penguins organization. I was thinking about adding an addendum to that post that included all players that "made it" with anyone in the NHL and only including Moulson. Either way its grim. Of course Crosby, Malkin, Staal cover the drafted section, but weren't really developed before stepping in and contributing.

Kunitz is still the only guy that doesn't miss a beat playing with Geno OR Sid. We haven't been able to say that for any other player we've had during their time with the team fwiw. Leading away from where the discussion was going, sorry.

I assumed that I would be considered one of the PR crazies.

I'd say if he doesn't suffer another injury that causes his to miss most of the rest of the year, he can count. Otherwise, i'll hold off.

Re: Other NHL games 2013-2014 season
It has more or less worked out personel-wise, obviously. Its just a strange unbalance, and one that has obviously been noted by many. I just never really noticed that Malone is really the only significant forward production they've received from the draft beyond 3 straight-to-NHLers.

Letestu counts.
And Kunitz still blows in the playoffs.
But I wouldn't mind cloning him a couple times. One Kunitz for each of the top 3 lines.

Undrafted. Talent not identified until age 24, took two years of pro before they realized NHL potential. Had prominent Junior "A" seasons, prominent NCAA season, scouts unsure of his ability at best - maybe oblivious to him in general. Developed despite being missed by pro organizations.

No one seemed to catch your Seinfeld reference, which was very well done.mikey287 wrote:No question. When did we have a forward prospect project like that? One that offered to fill a need, that is. Our big "prospects" like Crosby, Malkin and Staal all stepped in as soon as they could (Malkin was caught in high stakes game of world diplomacy and international intrigue)...Esposito spent little time here and was a center also, so there wasn't as much hoopla. Who else did we really fawn over in that fashion? I guess Luca Caputi is a name to consider. Other than that, we go back to the Generation X years...and frankly, I don't want to go back there...
Only a matter of time before Ryan Stone breaks out and scores his first NHL goal...
We got to sit and stew in the Big Dog's anticipatory juices...the suspense nearly killed us.

Can we finally stop all the Tangradi bashing? He has more goals than Giroux.

Flyers trying to get Giroux his first of the season, but he just can't convert. Breaks his stick in half out of frustration on the bench. I guess that's better than a golf club?

Is that Steve Coates who can't believe a hooking call was called on Adams? ![Facepalm :face:](./images/smilies/facepalm.gif)

Giroux has to score a goal before the flyers come to pittsburgh. I am just a bit worried he'll break-out in Pgh!

In order for that to happen, Steigy will have to mention Clode's scoreless streak a half dozen times in ten minutes.penny lane wrote: I am just a bit worried he'll break-out in Pgh!
