i knew on the widow it was gonna be tough. I should have let redwill's 7 spade bid stand - widow was 8S, 5S, 6C, 10C and QD. Starting with 6 hearts was just too tempting. And this larger game was going nowhere with both in negative territory.

actually....you might have been screwed with the seven spade bid too. I had 4 spades (J, A, 10, 9) and 4 hearts (J, K, 9, 7). WK had the joker, if joker and J clubs fell on trick one, I would have had the next two highest trump.
