...so? The Penguins have Crosby for $8.7 million and the Ducks have Perry and Getzlaf $8.25 million and the Leafs have Kessel for $8.0 million. Thats an advantage. The advantage doesn't go away because Crosby "could" get more elsewhere.

I didn't say I thought he was worth it. hell, 2 of my fantasy teams auto-drafted him and I'm thinking of trading him because I'm not convinced that I couldn't get someone better. comparing him to Crosby's cap hit is irrelevant because Crosby is making substantially less than he's actually worth. there's not a team in the NHL what wouldn't give Sid $10 M per year if he hit the open market. comparing Kessel to Perry is more reasonable.

Kessel isn't worth 8 million, I'm sorry. I know he's been top 10 in scoring the past 2 years, but that's just a huge amount for a team that really needs to pay for a supporting cast.
