Yeah, that was pretty plain to see. Brunner's problem is that he thinks he should be in that middle class, but one season of middling production doesn't earn you that kind of money. He would have been wise to take the contract the Wings offered him.

im sure he took in his stats from the past season and compared them to those that are near him and thought he should be paid in their price range. Guys like Patrik Berglund are making 3mil+ with comparable short season numbers. im not saying hes right, but im sure that was his thought process.

^That contract is a hope and a prayer. I get that they're trying to extend him before he has a great season... but I can't see the price getting any higher. He's had 1 great season and 1 bleh season. I think I'd wait to see what I'm buying before committing 7 yrs 42m to a 20 yr old.

Lebrun is right. Morrow is still a high-caliber player. He's got some miles on him, but he was a PPG guy when he came over here. Wouldn't be surprised to see Iginla and Morrow total > 100 pts.
