I can only imagine the reaction around the league when he signs with the pens for $1 mil per season

I guess he's going to visit the Hall of Fame in the offseason and get a picture next to the cup.

The Packers never had to slip an IOU into Brett's locker, so there is a bit of a difference between the two scenarios.Kovy27 wrote:I guess he's going to steal it.

I believe everyone involved fully expects him to come back once he is able under the rules. He 'retired' to minimize the cost of his departure.

SO was he able to void his contract and sign else where or does he have to go back to the devils??Pitt87 wrote:The Packers never had to slip an IOU into Brett's locker, so there is a bit of a difference between the two scenarios.Kovy27 wrote:I guess he's going to steal it.

The contract was effectively voided, i'm guessing he could go anywhere, but i'm not sure.

I thought the soonest he could come back to the NHL is in 2018?

Apparently he could come back sooner than that if he gets approval to be removed from a Voluntary Retirement List from all 30 teams. Lots of detail here:Crankshaft wrote:I thought the soonest he could come back to the NHL is in 2018?
