Was that the Best Buy in Monroeville? I'd say 2 days go these kids were at my office selling stuff for $2.00.

The only time I really ever give money is to the THON kids, and that's about it.
I just don't really understand the concept of it in areas where the kids don't need financial help. What are we really doing? Paying for their uniforms so their dads can buy new golf clubs?

i assume the concept is that the parents think the kids should have to do something to raise the money instead of them just handing it over to the kids. but it's funny because all the kids learn is that sometimes when their parents won't hand them money they'll have to stop traffic to ask strangers to.

Only he was clearly selling them for a raised price and an odd one that required you to have ones because he conveniently didn't have change.... Or you could just give him the extra buck. No thanks...
There's a similar instance happening at the strip on Sundays. Same dude hits me up every time too, and each time I tell him "sorry man, only have plastic on me", which 90% of the time is usually true.

He's about 6 foot tall, skinny, always by himself, and always hanging out near 21st St (beer hive, luke's alaskan grille) +/- one block.

I used to think throat clearers were obnoxious, but there's this guy at work that essentially does throat clearing in his nasal passage. Can hear the snot starting to accumulate in the back of the throat....so gross.

My roommate does something similar. Like when you hock a loogie, you go *snort in* and the the *haaaack* noise. He only does the *haaack* noise but it lasts for like 4 seconds. Ugh.

Ha. I had a guy like that sitting on the other side of me for like 2 years. Spit in the garbage can too.

He left like a year ago.

I had a guy that did the throat clearing type think you are referring to. It annoyed a lot of people but for some reason didn't bother me.

When you're on a conference call with a ton of people and someone throws out the old, "how is everybody doing?"

It's never met with any sort of enthusiasm.

When you are making a turn at a four way stop sign and you clearly get there a second or two before the another person who is going straight and he gives you a wave telling you its ok to go.

alternatively, when I am running a conference call and EVERY question I ask is met with awkward silence.

I've had some adventures with some Asian clients on calls lately. They've said one of my examples was "irrelevant" instead of "arbitrary". And instead of calling something an "understatement", they called it a "euphemism."

...unless it really was a euphemism, in which case I'm intrigued.

Not irrational I guess but no bathrooms on SEPTA trains. Shouldn't have had that last beer.
