Ziggy Palffy retires

Post by JS© »

Former NHLer and Slovak national team forward Zigmund Palffy has called it quits, announcing his retirement from hockey.

"One morning is more beautiful than the previous one, and you have other opinions. At this point, I believe that I quit. Definitive. Already I do not want to travel anywhere. Did it enough," said the 41-year-old winger.

Palffy hung up his skates after the 2012/2013 season where he was the most productive player in Slovak Extraliga Tipsport, registering 83 points in just 48 games.
Zig, I believe you quit in 2006. :pop:

I've been told the reason Palffy left the Pens in 2006 off the record. All I'll say is it was for a serious family matter. He didn't "quit."

Wasn't it known that he quit because of shoulder issues? I mean he quit in January and then didn't play the next season and then started up in Europe the season after that.

He quit because he didn't want to be here. That is fact. It's been stated by players and even coach Eddie O in interviews. He left to go on vacation/a wedding in the middle of the season and the Pens had to say he was injured to cover their backs. The guy quit on the team.
