"The Look-up Line"
http://justcureparalysis.org/the-look-up-line/
This link showed up in my news feed today via Pure Hockey and I think it's a good idea. Establishing a line around the rink perimeter to force players to play heads up hockey and to help justify blame, penalties, and suspensions for injuries after hits could make the job easier for the refs. What say you?

No. That may be one of the dumbest ideas in the name of safety I have ever heard.

Sounds like a not good idea. I mean I get what they are trying to do, but yeah. Awful.

Re: "The Look-up Line"
I thought it was going to be a wire across the rink and you decapitate yourself, if you're skating through the neutral zone with your head down.

Don't most head and neck injuries happen away from the boards?

Re: "The Look-up Line"
That's what I thought when I read it. Maybe makes sense for younger kids to learn to keep their heads up. I recall hearing a bunch of people ***** that there should be no suspension because a guy turned his back or put himself in a vulnerable position. My thinking was that it could be a zone for a review on a borderline hit to see if the penalty could be nullified.since1970 wrote:....warning track?????

Re: "The Look-up Line"
I thought this thread was going to be about a hockey team that has a line full of goons, so everyone should keep their heads up when their on the ice. then I see this stupid idea.

Thought this was about Briere's new line in MTL. You know...because of the shortness.

See I thought the opposite, I thought it was going to be a line of players with concussion histories who need to learn to look up on the ice.count2infinity wrote:I thought this thread was going to be about a hockey team that has a line full of goons, so everyone should keep their heads up when their on the ice. then I see this stupid idea.

They would have to paint the entire surface, since guys seem to be getting caught admiring thier passes from anywhere.Staggy wrote:See I thought the opposite, I thought it was going to be a line of players with concussion histories who need to learn to look up on the ice.count2infinity wrote:I thought this thread was going to be about a hockey team that has a line full of goons, so everyone should keep their heads up when their on the ice. then I see this stupid idea.

I think I might have to add a poll to this thread. Results are inconclusive on what yinz really think about more lines n'at.

Re: "The Look-up Line"
Perhaps they should just put rubber padding all the way around the rink to avoid injury.
