Buyout waivers: Ballard (VAN), Gilbert (MIN), Gerbe (BUF) Colaiacovo (DET).
Hall Gill cleared waivers. Sergei Kostitsyn and Nashville may have mutually terminated his contract, as opposed to a buyout (but he is on unconditional waivers as of now)

The Flyers are close to extending Claude Giroux for something close to 8 years, $8.3mil per according to Dreger and LeBrun.
In other words, LOLOLOLOL.
No idea how they'll afford that.

Huge trade in the works. Boston and Dallas close on a deal sending Tyler Seguin to Stars for Loui Eriksson. Other parts involved as well.

8.7 for Crosby and 9.5 for Malkin isn't looking too bad now. Hell, 7.25 for Letang looks okay too.MRandall25 wrote:The Flyers are close to extending Claude Giroux for something close to 8 years, $8.3mil per according to Dreger and LeBrun.

Re: Around the League: Transactions
By dealing Seguin now, Boston would be dealing him before the contract he signed (pre lockout) would kick in. 5 years $27.5Mill...
That's why Letang wanted some reassurance that the Pens wouldn't deal him after this year....

and world-class superstar David Clarkston who has no idea what lies behind the other side of center ice wants 6 years @6mil/yr. Get real.
Pens' contracts look awesome in every way by comparison.

Eh, a little early to make that call. Loui is what he is; Seguin has a good bit of upside still.pcm wrote:Loui Ericksson > Seguin

Peverley is one of those five I believe. Dallas has a pick or a prospect in there...could be someone like Glennie or Fraser...

Re: Around the League: Transactions
Seguin is only 21 and signed long term. Eriksson is a great two way player, but he is 7 years older.
Depending on the entire deal. I like Dallas getting Seguin. Surprised Boston would deal him already.

Seguin has some, ahem, issues...still a young kid, immature...he also another physical issue that Boston has been kept under wraps a little bit...

Re: Around the League: Transactions
He's been called out in the Boston media by the GM as not being "professional" enough. I don't think the Boston organization downward to the HC have a lot of faith in the guy. Maybe time for a change of scenery for both.KG wrote:Seguin is only 21 and signed long term. Eriksson is a great two way player, but he is 7 years older.

As a Fraser Owner, I would love that. Boston seems to be able to get a lot out of bigger physical wingers.mikey287 wrote:Peverley is one of those five I believe. Dallas has a pick or a prospect in there...could be someone like Glennie or Fraser...

Joe Morrow is believed to be one of the pieces going from DAL to BOS. Also, perhaps Reilly Smith and Matt Fraser. Looking for confirmation.

Getting traded twice before you even played a single game in the NHL can't be much fun.Beveridge wrote:Good for him and possibly bad for us.Gaucho wrote:Joe Morrow believed to be one of the players going to Boston.

Well, Seguin is ~7 years younger than Eriksson.
