Jonathan Bernier
Nick Kypreos @RealKyper 58m
Keep hearing #Kings Bernier will b traded sooner than later. With poss' Breeze buyout and Leiweke LA link, #Leafs #Flyers front-runners
Bernier to PHI? Can't see why Toronto would be interested with the way Reimer's played for them.

Re: Jonathan Bernier
Bernier has better tools than Reimer and a higher upside. Not to mention, they want to undo the Rask trade if they can by actually acquiring an up and coming guy.
It's funny, my like for Jonathan Bernier is part of the reason why I don't like Steve Mason...stealing his spot on Team Canada in the WJCs some years ago...it'd be interesting if they were re-united...so I would not at all approve of that...

They might very well be. There's an "auction" going on for him right now...at least that seems to be the terminology attached to it...canaan wrote:Kind of surprised that the oil aren't interested

Tom Dougherty @todougherty 4h
Anything more than Matt Read and a 2nd round pick is too much for Jonathan Bernier. It's the Flyers, so expect Giroux, Voracek and a 1st.

Any chance Bernier is the NHL's version of Matt Cassel?

Re: Jonathan Bernier
Nah, Bernier is actually talented. I'd be surprised if he didn't turn out to be something pretty good. I've been high on him for years. Cassel wasn't a starter in college and jumped right in for New England and won 11 games...

Bernier could be a starter for half the league.

Yea...I am a night owl and would watch hockey late at night to sleep. So I would put on a stream and watch the Kings because I liked a lot of their players.

Re: Jonathan Bernier
I've watched plenty of Bernier since he's been in the NHL. He certainly plays well, but its premature to say that he could be a starter for any team in the league.

Re: Jonathan Bernier
Yea, I would say he is better than around half the starters currently in the NHL. I agree its a small sample size though.

Re: Jonathan Bernier
I don't know if its a sample size issue, its just a big difference in workload. If I were to bet though, I'd bet on him being able to be successful, even if maybe he struggles in his first full year.

Re: Jonathan Bernier
That is what I meant by the sample size. He hasn't had to carry a team yet. So we are on the same page it seems.

Well in that case, which of us is going to be a contrarian for the sake of arguing?
