Best Hockey Books

Post by Mr. Colby »

So I'm heading to the beach in a couple of weeks and I'm trying to get my lineup of books set up... looking for some hockey-related material.

Just picked up "Net Worth" on Amazon for like 3 bucks, and "Tough Guy: My Life on the Edge" (about Bob Probert)

Anyone have some good suggestions? I'm not looking for Pens-specific at all, but just hockey in general.

I completely read the title of this thread wrong...

and here I thought this thread was going to be about Paulina Gretzky, Elisha Cuthbert, and Dustin Byfuglien...

How to become an NHL GM would be more useful.

I know this is a somewhat lazy response, but you certainly can't go wrong with most of this list (especially Sanderson's)

I can't for the life of me remember the name of the book about life in the locker room over the course of a full season. Road something something...

Very good too: The Hockey News' Century of Hockey and Top 100 NHL Players of all Time.

Guess the book I was thinking of is called On the Road, huh.

Not to be confused with Kerouac's even better book of the same name.

I thought you were thinking of Willam S. Burroughs' The Last Words of Dave Schultz.

Never even heard of that particular Burroughs novel, I must admit.
