Made me think of a certain other French-Canadian goalie for some reason.
Former goalie coach says Price has deteriorated

Very odd. Price much like Fleury has tons of natural raw talent. I almost feel like had he landed anywhere but Montreal he'd be right on track to being a top goalie in the league.

I feel like the general fan population has no idea how important a goaltending coach is.

I feel like the general fan population has no idea whether or not a goaltending coach is important to a goalie that has made it to the NHL.

I've always thought that he could thrive better in another town.
Maybe I'm over rating him? :shrugs:

There definitely has to be something to it. Why does Bryzgalov and Smith go to Phoenix and work with Burke and look like a world beater and either A) move on and look totally lost or B) look totally lost before getting there.Idoit40fans wrote:I feel like the general fan population has no idea whether or not a goaltending coach is important to a goalie that has made it to the NHL.

Phoenix is a good example of good goaltending coaching coupled with a strong defensive first strategy making an average goaltender looked like a top 10 guy.joopen wrote:There definitely has to be something to it. Bryz went from being great on a very defensive team to being good on a poor defensive team until he was run into the ground. I'm not sure what that shows at all.meow wrote:Phoenix is a good example of good goaltending coaching coupled with a strong defensive first strategy making an average goaltender looked like a top 10 guy.joopen wrote:There definitely has to be something to it. Not sure where you are going with that, but Brzy is an average goalie.
