It will be pretty bad if not surprising if it doesn't go to Suter.

Kris Letang actually won it, but turned it over to Subban.

Pretty crazy that this guy is named the best defenseman in the league, but whatever.

Re: PK Subban to win the Norris Trophy
It's hardly a representative panel, and there were still two months left in the season, but not one of these 10 guys had him in their top 8.

Re: PK Subban to win the Norris Trophy
Well, that panel just voted on who they thought was the best dmen in the NHL, not anything to do with Norris, which is why Karlsson appears on most of the lists despite playing like 16 games this year in the regular season?pfim wrote:It's hardly a representative panel, and there were still two months left in the season, but not one of these 10 guys had him in their top 8.

Kevin Weekes has Big Buff on his list

I disagree with all of them putting Weber over Suter. I think Suter is slightly better overall than Weber and some of the comments about how "physical" Weber plays consistently, even more than chara, tells me that most of the panel very rarely has watched a Predator's game in a few years. Weber isn't Kevin Hatcher when it comes to physical play, but I doubt too many forwards would rather deal with Chara over Weber. Weber is really good and the d-men these days overall aren't as stellar as other times, but I'd take Chara every day over Weber, especially when you look at those contracts.

Re: PK Subban to win the Norris Trophy
Well the list was voted on just a week after Karlsson was injured. And the list is highly subjective obviously, but to not get one mention...I always thought the Norris was for the best defenseman, that guy certainly wasn't Subban this year imo.
Then again Karlsson won it last year despite the fact that he wasn't trusted by his own coach to kill penalties, so what do I know?

Re: PK Subban to win the Norris Trophy
If Subban cleans up his act a little bit and tones it down, he'll get more respect around the league and especially through the media.pfim wrote:Well the list was voted on just a week after Karlsson was injured. I'd agree.....not really a Norris Trophy year for him either. Lidstrom is probably laughing about what passes for Norris Trophy winners these days.
