Wow. Just think if that were a more meaningful game. I would hate to see how that guy reacted to a family tragedy.MRandall25 wrote:

I think that's a result of very, very, long, bad season in Colorado. But wow is right. Shot! score.

Re: Doc Emerick
He is awful. As Kaizer pointed out he has no volume control which makes him absolutely a joke. I don't need you to manufacture fake excitement for a routine shot on net from the blueline Doc. That just ruins anything good he brings to the table for me. I can see why the casual fan might enjoy his antics but for me he just ruins the atmosphere of the game most of the time. I enjoy almost all of the CBC announcers far more than Doc because they simply let the excitement of the game speak for itself.

Re: Doc Emerick
I wonder if Emrick maybe has had some slight hearing loss because he wasn't nearly as loud or turbo-charged for many years as he is now. When I watch Devils' games, he doesn't seem nearly as loud either. It's probably NBC saying "BE LOUD AND EXCITED!!!!" sort of like they tell Pierre "TALK ABOUT LEADERSHIP!!" or tell Milbury "SAY SOMETHING STUPID!!!"

Re: Doc Emerick
i dont think you need to tell Milbury to "say something stupid." Just give him a mic, ask a question, and he can find all the stupidity you'd ever need all by himself. Also, Piere carried on the "Cooke ended Savard's career" myth last nite. Cooke injured Savard initially, but the Bruins rushing him back to try and beat the Flyers that year is what ended his career.

NBC was just itching to show that clip and have those idiots say that. There's no other reason that clip would be ready so fast. That was like Christmas Day for them.

Re: Doc Emerick
Not trying to Matt Cooke, BUT I just think rather than cover the game well, NBC was more concerned in showcasing his edginess. If they had been paying attention for the last 2 years they would have realized how unprofessional the presenting of that clip was. Not to mention that the dude stayed on the ice until he was sure the whistle blew and the penalty wl. s called. It's just very amateurish.

I love listening to Doc. "We are three seconds shy of the cubic root of the natural log of pi to the power of Gretzky's jersey number away from the close of the second period here in the city known for it's production and cultivaiton of mathematical excellence in academia..."

It is pretty funny.
