If it is Pens/Hawks I'm looking forward to Cooke getting under Toews skinMatthew Monstar wrote:Crawford is so bad. I hope he makes it to the Stanley Cup and I hope we make it there.

I'm surprised that Stephen Walkom didn't join in the celebration with the Hawks.

Breaking:
Dejan Kovacevic @Dejan_Kovacevic 13m
And we're down to four: Pittsburgh, Boston, Los Angeles ... and Chicago. The past four Cup champs. Amazing. #TribHKY

It took a lot of skill for Seabrook to deflect that puck off Kronwall’s skates during one of the rare moments they’re actually on the ice.

Yeah, who would have thought that the best four teams in hockey over the last four seasons would go far in the playoffs this year?

Sorry, thought you were being facetious in bringing it up b/c, yes, it has been discussed a lot the last few days. Not trying to pile on.Shyster wrote:Apparently, that fact has been repeated a few times already...
Still, it's kinda cool, so...yeah.

Re: Other NHL games
That's a pretty hard shot to stop...that was going to be just inches off the ice when he released. You read the release. His glove was in fine position for the original shot. Why would glove be still way up in there when the puck is expected to be six inches off the ice. As a goalie, you're already considering the rebound there (which is what Seabrook is likely shooting for), so you want to try to catch that puck if you can or boot it into a dead zone. Kronwall could have played that more aggressively, tightened his gap on the shooter given the limited skill set of the player coming on him 1 on 1. His gap is too loose, he yields a better-than-necessary scoring chance and he loses...DelPen wrote:If it was Howard still should have saved it if his glove was in proper position. Angle didn't change enough to make it that hard of a save.Gaucho wrote:Wasn't it deflected?

I was about to yell at Detroit's defense to quit backing up when Seabrook unleashed the game winner. Too much space.

Re: Other NHL games
I love the difference between the NHL and every other major sport. There's a friggin investigation in the NBA being launched by Stern because LeBron fouled out in Game 4 against the Pacers. The NHL would never even think about addressing the Walkom call tonight and he'll probably be officiating Game 1 of our series Saturday.

No. I think they were a 7th seed who barely snuck into the playoffs.

Re: Other NHL games
Could you imagine how the Caps would have reacted if they were hosed like Chicago was last night? Is there any chance they would have come back and won in OT?

Yeah it was a victory for them to even make it as far as they did. Still, blowing a 3-1 lead is never good.MRandall25 wrote:No. I think they were a 7th seed who barely snuck into the playoffs.
