Mother of Ferrets

Also, still bitter that they're showing Liberace instead of GoT tonight.

Spoiler:
Does this book get interesting, ever? 390 pages of exposition and counting...I enjoy Martin's writing style but not enough to slog through 30 chapters about the boring Brienne plot line. Ugh.

Yeah. There are some boring ass parts, but I would say the Lannister story line is quite interesting.

I definitely find myself skimming most of the other story lines--besides Arya's. Martin writes Cersei's chapters very well (Tyrion ( :( ) and Jaime's also, to a lesser extent).

Yeah, forgot about Arya as well. That book is definitely a mixed bag.

I have a feeling once the show catches up with AFfC and ADwD, they will be taking a lot of liberties to make the show more interesting. Could be a possible rare instance where changing the book would be a good thing.

Yeah... I'm expecting them to omit and/or heavily modify a lot of the story lines from those books.... there is so much there that just has no bearing on the overall story. and way too many characters for a tv show. (yes, there are many more than we have now)

We'll probably start getting into those books sometime next season. They are going to catch up to Martin eventually as I think they're going to maybe get through Season 5 with the current material. Assuming he releases Winds of Winter next year, that gives him maybe 2-3 years to finish the final book in time for the show.

Season 4 casting news (not sure if it should be spoilered, but here it is)
Spoiler:
Martin revealed at a Q&A that auditions were being held for Styr the Magnar of Thenn, Mace Tyrell and Oberyn Martell.

Major SoS/Episode 9 spoilers
Spoiler:
It's almost hard for me to believe it, but I actually feel more sick having watched that than when I read it... Seeing it made it that much more real. Pure massacre.

I remember when I first read it, I was actually more pissed off that Joffrey got to gloat about it than I was that Robb was dead.

This was incredibly well done though.
Prediction for the finale (more SoS spoilers)
Spoiler:
I think Balon is going to take a little tumble. I almost thought that it might not happen till next season, but they showed Yara in the previews and I doubt she's making a token appearance this late in the season.
I think a lot of people will only remember this episode for a single scene, but I thought it was an excellent episode throughout. Bravo D&D.

Spoiler:
I haven't read the books and I only know minimal spoilers including tonight's episode.

Rob was definitely one of my favorite characters so it sucks to lose him. There was a bit of foreshadowing at the beginning of this episode that I thought was a nice touch. John Show leaving Ygritte was a bit of a surprise but I think it's all a ploy.

Bold predicton: Eventually Arya is either going to be "King" of the North or attempt to become so. Hotpie is either going to be her love interest or she will find out him dead.

I just gotta say, the Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark - Robb's mother), hit it out of the park with her performance tonight. If there is an award for the best acting in a single episode she should win it.

Just took a tour of the episode thread on hbo.com... not unlike PR after a Pens' loss.

haha. I haven't watched the episode yet (don't have HBO) but I knew this would be the episode that the Red Wedding goes down...glad to see that they portrayed it well. Can't wait to watch.

that episode was the most brutal/holy (crap) moment of the series for me when I read the books. I remember being so stunned I litteraly struggled at work the next day coming to grasp with what I had read the night before, don't know what that says about me that I let it affect me that much.
