Necessary move. That's a good roster, it was just AV's time to go, he'll land on his feet...so will the assistants (Rick Bowness and Newell Brown I think...?).
Canucks can go in a lot of different directions here, they've been an offensive team for some years with Marc Crawford and Alain Vigneault...lots of speculation about Dave Tippett being available, we know Guy Boucher is...both defensive-oriented. Then there's other options like Lindy Ruff or Dallas Eakins...

@strombone1 6m
Since our 1st year when we arrived together, AV would always tell me that he'd be gone before I would. I guess he was right. Very ironic....

I would have fired GM Gillis first, but his replacement likely would have turned around and wanted his own HC and fired AV anyway. Gillis and George McPhee are two GM's that should be on very borrowed time.

I guess you can't fire all the players who choke every year.

GMGM has been with the Caps since 97 with one sniff of a Stanley Cup final in 1998..... I feel like he'll be safe as long as Teddy is around.brwi wrote:I would have fired GM Gillis first, but his replacement likely would have turned around and wanted his own HC and fired AV anyway.
