They said that, while the initial point of contact was the shoulder, it was a glancing blow and the head ended up being the "principle" point of contact.

Another part of the wording: he said Torres had a chance to lay a body-on-body hit, but chose a route that made the head the principle point of contact (paraphrased).

If there was any contact to the head, this is the right decision. Whether it was the primary point of contact or not, it doesn't matter. Torres has had plenty of chances. He needs to make some effort to avoid people's heads.

That is a ridiculous suspension. The 2 parts are primarily target the head and principle contact of the head. The primary target was NOT the head. It was the shoulder and he made contact with the shoulder before momentum carried him through the head of a player.

Now, if you give a suspension you give a set number of games. NOT A VARIABLE SUSPENSION. That is ridiculous.

Again, it's the 2nd time in 2 years that Raffi Torres has hit someone in the head during the playoffs. Doesn't really matter what the first point was. He had ample opportunity to hit Stoll in the side of his body instead of high by the head.

I'm surprised the suspension wasn't a set number of games, like 15. "For the rest of the series" doesn't seem like enough, and apparently violates part of the new CBA.

Not sure what the argument is here. Torres went for Stoll's head and got it. He tried to maim Hossa last year (and did).

I don't get why repeat offender is ridiculous. I guess we could say "Torres is a guy who has tried to injure opponents by going after their heads on multiple occasions."

I'm fine with this decision. Stop trying to ruin other players' careers by going for concussion hits.
