Billy Guerin got the call to volunteer and that other Lemieux played in a game to raise money for
Hurricane Sandy relief.
Daneyko said playing with so many former Devils, many of whom were veterans of the team’s three Stanley Cup winning efforts, was like old times.
“To see Randy McKay, Bobby Carpenter, (Stephane) Richer, (Claude) Lemieux. You have a bond for life with those guys,” he said.
Some ribbing comes with the territory.
“Holding court again?” Lemieux quipped while Daneyko was speaking to reporters.
“I was just telling them I’ve talked to you more in the last few weeks than I have in 10 years,” Daneyko responded.
