Re: Frozen Four Tickets
Boss wanted to give me two tickets for this at around 6:20. But the other guy I work with wouldn't stay another 15-20 minutes at work to cover for me till the overnight crew would get here.

Melrose was real cool though. He was courteous and pretty friendly.
Next on the list is to try and talk to Buccigrass sometime this week. We saw him but he was busy doing things and we didn't want to bother him.

I think I met Melrose at an airport some years ago...seems like a cool enough guy though...
These clubs aren't the most high-end, but anyone standing out to you in this thing so far?

Re: Frozen Four Tickets
I didn't see much of the first game. Though did see the OT winner unfold, was a thing of beauty.
The St. Cloud/Qunnipiac game was a snoozer. No one really made anything outstanding happen, except maybe Matthew Peca. That kid is talented. Good skater and good hands. Didn't score this game, but he has been Aside from that, no. St Cloud would have really benefited from having a player that stood out since they controlled the puck and play for most of the game and yet got beat by the short spurts that Quinnipiac mustered.

I don't concur at all with this. The UML vs. Yale game was brutal, mainly due to UML playing a 2010 Montreal/collapse around the net in their zone game. Must have blocked 40 shots. Played a passive 1-4.Rylan wrote:I didn't see much of the first game. Though did see the OT winner unfold, was a thing of beauty.

By comparison, the other game, at least the first two periods, was awesome. Q was flying and St. Cloud were great puck possessors. In the end quinnipiac won just about every battle in the slot/down low, and that was the difference, well, and Hartzell -- by far the best goaltender.
Samuels-Thomas was a beast. Stronger than every scs player he encountered, but will need to work on skating. Langlois looked about as advertised (if I recall the advertising) -- smart, skates hard, maybe NHL bottom sizer.
I thought Agostino was the best Bulldog. I missed the first period of the Yale game where apparently langeniere (sp?) must have done something (GE was the second star), but I wasn't very impressed. He was big, but meh. A friend I spoke with after seemed to like him better. Top pairing on Yale -- Fallen and someone else -- were good.

I was tired so that probably didn't help . But the 3rd period made me nearly fall asleep.

Re: Frozen Four Tickets
Yeah, the third wasn't all that exciting. I think that was a testament to Quinnipiac's ability to keep St. Cloud on the perimeter the entire game. Quinnipiac played a much more defensive third period (naturally, up 4-1), and St. Cloud continued to just possess the puck on the outside. Anytime they got a good look, Hartzell was there.Rylan wrote:I was tired so that probably didn't help . But the 3rd period made me nearly fall asleep.

Yea, that 4th goal for Q is what sank the ship of St. Cloud. That was an obvious case of next goal matters.Kraftster wrote:Yeah, the third wasn't all that exciting. It didn't help that St. Cloud botched a ton of scoring chances.

As a general comment, it's really unfortunate that these games have been overlapped by the Pens...
