Top goalscorer in league?
The stats are incomplete, but Lupul has 7 goals in 8 games this season. Sick goals too. He is play outstanding hockey.

Re: Top goalscorer in league?
If you're looking for a pure goal scorer, a guy that is superior at just shooting the puck and scoring....
Steven Stamkos
James Neal
Tomas Vanek
Phil Kessel
Alexander Semin
------------------
I'd go with Stamko's as most pure shooter. He's kind of average with playmaking and other facets but obviously, you watch him shoot on the Powerplay and boom..... It's like Ovechkin pre-steroid era.

Lupul clearly not used to the attention. Interviewed on ice before the game for HNIC. He was asked two questions and his responses weren't even in the ball park in terms of addressing the question.

I'd definitely replace Kessel with Kovalchoo. Neal wouldn't be on my list.Matthew Monstar wrote:If you're looking for a pure goal scorer, a guy that is superior at just shooting the puck and scoring....

Sounds like he's well versed in interviewing.bhaw wrote:Lupul clearly not used to the attention. Interviewed on ice before the game for HNIC. He was asked two questions and his responses weren't even in the ball park in terms of addressing the question.

Re: Top goalscorer in league?
This wasn't answering a question with a cliche or canned answer. It was more like:
"Can you explain what has changed in your game between last year and this year?"
"Well, I'm more partial to chocolate glazed over Boston Cream."

Re: Top goalscorer in league?
I think you have to include Sid in the discussion. Has a 50+ season, probably could have had another pre-neck-meat injury, and is probably the best breakaway/penalty shooter in the NHL.
1. Stamkos
2. Kovachoo
3. Gaborik
4. Crosby
5. Marleau

Crosby wasn't even the top goal scorer on his line...or the runner-up.

He's an Islander, therefore irrelevant.

I don't like him, but I have to give credit where it's due. Ovechkin has 14 goals in his last 13 games.

I'd still take Stamkos, but Ovechkin is definitely making a strong case about his being relevant again.

Hell yeah.... Ovie has definitely found his game which is not something I look forward to seeing in the playoffs.Idoit40fans wrote:I'd still take Stamkos, but Ovechkin is definitely making a strong case about his being relevant again.

Re: Top goalscorer in league?
Ovechkin playing well in the playoffs is good for the NHL. Its not like the Caps have anything that can beat any of the actual top teams in the East. The Caps are on a good run beating the Southeast, the Sabres, losing to the islanders once and beating them in the shootout, and losing the freaking Flyers. Unless they find something more(read as: a lot more), they're not a real threat in the playoffs.
