I agree. The cancer stuff may have been relevant 10 years ago, but it isn't now.Kraftster wrote:Yeah, there've basically been exclusively glowing reviews of Jagr as a teammate since his return to the NHL. He's not a cancer. Sigh, I can't believe I get so bothered by the Jagr hate every time he gets talked about. Just can't conceive of hating Jagr.

I hate Jagr but the 'cancer in the room' ship has sailed... all indications since his return to the NHL have been positive. He contributes on the boxscore, teaches young players how to work hard and be a pro, and it seems all he wants to do is play hockey. Said he did very little touring of Philly and probably even less of Dallas (because its dallas..lol).

So who would you rather have, Reghr who went for 2 seconds, or Murray?

Re: Around the League: Transactions
I'd say Murray is a better fit for this team if that answer is acceptable. I would say Reghr is better, but I think Murray is something we needed more. Kind of like Sutter is a better fit than Staal despite Staal having more talent.

Wonder how much money he lost on the Cowboys this season...DelPen wrote:Well he is a Cowboy's fanFire0nice228 wrote:I hate Jagr but the 'cancer in the room' ship has sailed... all indications since his return to the NHL have been positive. Re: Around the League: Transactions
You can tell Blue Jackets fans have never really been in a position to be buyers at the deadline...
"@SomeGuy: @Aportzline wouldn't Philly basically give us Jody Shelley? He hasn't been playing for them"
doesn't really cover it. If you're buying, you're not buying wastes like Jody Shelley, who also happens to be out for the year.
EDIT:
"@SomeOtherGuy: @Aportzline Why (are they adding)? They need to be sellers"

Clowe to the Rangers for a 2nd, a 3rd and a conditional 2nd based on if he re-signs or they win two playoff rounds

It's a 2nd, 3rd, and conditional 2nd on re-signing or winning 2 playoff series.canaan wrote:Clowe to the Rangers for a 2nd and a conditional 3rd I believe
All signs point to him being re-signed, so 3 picks for Clowe.

I'm see the Rangers changed their mind and re-acquired Mike Rupp.

Definitely sounds he's being dealt then. Canes have a pretty big game tonight against the Caps.MRandall25 wrote:Jamie McBain being held out of the lineup for the Canes.
D-men with some offensive ability that are 25 and a 1.8mil cap hit will draw interest all over the NHL. Not real sure why Carolina is moving him either. He's not that bad in his own end and is priced right. I know they have Faulk coming back this month and just got Bergeron, but I guess McBain scoring into his own net a few nights ago made an impression

Re: Around the League: Transactions
A lot of teams making moves just to make moves.
Boston acquiring Jagr doesn't give them the offense they need....
New York Rangers, a team that cant score acquires a guy (Clowe) that hasnt really scored all season.
But maybe Jagr sparks Boston, ala his sparking Philly and Giroux.

Re: Around the League: Transactions
Figured the Rangers would have to at least deal a legit prospect. All these trades for picks are relatively boring. In this posters humble opinion!

Re: Around the League: Transactions
That's a lot for Clowe. He's a good player and there's no guarantee draft picks pan out, but still...
Since Reghr went for practically the same price as Douglas Murray, I'd have to say I'd much rather have Murray. Far more physical and that's exactly what Pittsburgh needed on the back end, in my opinion.
