When my baby drops her pacifier, even if it is a big open room, it just seems to disappear and she starts screaming.

That's an acceptable contraction of would have and could have. Would of and could of are not correct and (irrationally) annoy me.Idoit40fans wrote:would've could've?PensFanInDC wrote:AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Was this post driven by a post in PR? I just came across a pretty serious offender.

Mine is when people ask themselves questions and then answer them in posts, like they are talking to themselves, to make some point.
Why does this bother me? I'm not sure, it just does. Does it bother me enough to post about it? I guess it does.

I got the trifecta of my most annoying pet peeves going on.
Guy to the left is chomping on his gum and cracking it, person on the right is clicking thier pen over and over, and the person across from me is doing that as well.
I want to hurt someone right now.

Parking in a parking lot, away from everybody else and having somebody pull right beside you. I don't mean the one person who has to park at an angle at the furthest corner of the lot, but I mean one aisle over where minimal cars are. Happened in Target last week, where I was the only car in the aisle at the moment. I come out and there's one other person pulled close to my driver's side door.

I'll do you one better. When people do this in the effing RESTROOM AT WORK. There are 700 empty stalls and you have to pick the ONE next to MINE? Also, small paper clips. Who even uses them anymore? Use the big ones or GTFO.

in my old life, i used to own a couch that had a nice flat arm rest. i'd spend about 5 hours every day after work shuffling poker chips and watching tv. it was very therapeutic. doing this in my life now would win all kinds of awards in the "not gonna happen" category.canaan wrote:youd probably hate me. i have a stack of poker chips at my desk that i shuffle when im bored. dunno how juice hasn't murdered me yet.newarenanow wrote:I got the trifecta of my most annoying pet peeves going on.

The ability of my wife and in laws to take a family dinner at like, Easter for example, which would be great as a nice 2-3 hour visit and turn it into a 6-8 hour all afternoon and evening extravaganza of boredom (that I will pay for all week if I dare start indicating that it is time to go....)
Not AS bad when the 10 kids who will be attending can play outside, which they won't today.

Re: Your irrational pet peeves
When I'm watching a game and one of the composite sticks break the announcers immediately start harping about how wood sticks are better.
Maybe if you play pro hockey and the team supplies your sticks but the ones I've used lasted about 5 games before the blades were mush. At $30-$50 bucks a pop I can't afford to buy a new stick every week. On the other hand I've had the same 2 composite sticks for 2 years because I didn't buy the super light top of the line sticks.
