Just realized my local eatery/drinkery is currently listing Alchemy Hour as one of their "Keg Kicker" happy hour specials. Well, that settles my dinner plans.

Has anyone had genesee cream ale? Its like $13 for a 30 pack, and I need to know if its at least not gross.
edit: verdict... not gross. and at that price, that'll do.

I’ve also had Genny, and I didn’t think it was all that bad either. The Genesee Bock isn’t too bad as well.

My distributor gave me a free can, but I haven't tried it. I really liked the curious traveller they had.Factorial wrote:Speaking of cheap beer, anyone try the new Olde Frothingslosh:

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Bought Fleur De Lehigh Unfiltered Golden Ale. Made with lemongrass and ginger.
Quite light and tasty. And because of the lemongrass and ginger, it would go well with Thai or Chinese food.
Edit: Brewed by Philadelphia Brewing.

I tried Sam Adams' Double Agent IPL tonight. Basically a cross between the lager and an IPA. Very enjoyable flavor.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Picked up a six-pack each of Goose Island Mild Winter and Victory Swing Session Saison.
Goose Island was pretty good, but I think I'm done with winters.
Victory Saison is really tasty. I haven't had much experience with saisons, but if this is an at least decent representation of the style (little help, Kraftster!), I'm down with trying others. A good departure from the heavier porters, stouts, and winters I've been drowning in the past few months.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Ended up getting pretty toasty earlier... cracked open my 750mL bottle of Delirium Tremens and then followed it up with a Golden Monkey for comparison. It's been quite awhile since I've had DT but it was like being reacquainted with an old friend... so good. Quite possibly the best trippel I've ever had. The GM had a similar flavor profile being a trippel, but it was a lot more harsh tasting after just having the DT, likely due to the extra 1% in alcohol. Due to price concerns, DT can never be a regular, but is a glorious experience when opportunity presents itself.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Unlike DT which actually gets better when it warms up, the taste of Golden Monkey gets worse if it warms up a tenth of a degree.

I had Storm King tonight. Not my favorite stout, but solid.
Heavy Seas Black Cannon: A pretty solid APA.

Big Bear Red Rocket Ale: This is one of the finest ales I have ever had. If you are lucky enough to find it (it should at least be in 22oz bottles at your local Wegmans or Whole Foods), give it a shot. Perfectly balanced.
Southern Tier Live: Solid bottle-conditioned pale ale, but not my cup of tea.
Founders Dirty Bastard: Heavy Scotch Ale, everything they make is amazing.
