The thing I dont like about it is how he explodes upwards into the opponent, who is already crouched down pretty low in skating posture..if Z stays low and crouched as he initially is it is probably just as devastating of a hit but potentially safer, although I'm sure there would be whiplash issues.. Although if he stays low himself he might not even go for the big hit because he could get impacted just as harshly.

Its very close though IMO on the clean/dirty line, and I hate that the linesman came in and protected Z while their big goon Rinaldo fought for him..
He left his feet, lead with his elbow, and targeted the head. It's not even close. That is a textbook example of the type of hit they're trying to take out of the game. I agree though, that he went full-on Bobby Clarke there and ducked behind a goon.
Left his feet? absolutely. lead with elbow and targeted the head? come on now. again, a little objectivity......
His elbow is clearly tucked.. compare to Matt Cooke hit on McDonague a few seasons ago..
His elbow was tucked. My mistake. I think it's clear he was head hunting the way he left his feet. He got four games it was a completely dirty hit. He's officially Flyer scum now and four games is a big hit for someone's first rodeo.

Jose Theodore's season may be over due to injury. Jacob Markstrom's equipment has not arrived. Taking warm-ups is goalie coach and former WBS Penguin Robbie Tallas. If Clemmensen should falter (and he's been the worst goalie in the league this year, IMO, at least, worst that I've seen so far), Tallas will be forced to enter. He hasn't played in the NHL since Feb. 19, 2001.

Ahh...Markstrom's equipment finally arrives, no warm up for him I don't believe, but he is dressed (dressing?) and Robbie Tallas is officially a healthy scratch.

Amusing story. Tallas the 39 yr old goalie coach was dressed and on the bench for the 1st period until Markstrom's stuff arrived and he could get dressed for the 2nd.. So...Tallas got signed to a one day NHL contract as a player in the meantime.

Kaleta tossed for checking from behind. Looked painful. Rangers score 5 seconds later on the 5 on 3 to tie it.

EDIT: 2-1 Rangers. 4:10 left in the major.

EDIT: 2-2 Shorthanded. Yikes.

Seguin needs to shoot the puck. He's passed up three golden scoring chances in the last 5 minutes

Strong game by the Habs, especially after last night's free for all at home vs. Your Pittsburgh Penguins and then they travel to Boston and just take it from them. Budaj looked really good tonight.

Pretty ugly hit by Kaleta on Richards. He should be suspended for a while. I don't understand the lack of respect these players have for each other.

When viewing the replay it didnt look anything like knee-on-knee. Even the caps head coach said as much. I know it's the flyers guys but lets try to remain just a little objective around here sometimes.

I'm sorry, you were saying...

He's a dirty turd of a player.

Gallagher has been pretty impressive to me so far. They have a decent amount of young talent on that habs team.

Sure but that doesn't change that this guy was right about the original hit in question.

It's not surprising he doesn't understand the rules considering his coach doesn't either.
