No "Miracle" in the top five pretty much invalidates the lists.

I thought Goon was alright, but #2 all-time is ridiculous.

I don't know if there are 5 that I really like. 1. Miracle, 2. Rocket. something else after that...Goon may be somewhere up there, but Miracle and the Rocket are the only two hockey movies that I'd say I liked.

SI writing about hockey is like having the Most Valuable Primate writing a column on quantum physics.

I figured they did the lists in order to observe the 33rd anniversary (yesterday) of the Miracle on Ice. Wrong!Dickie Dunn wrote:No "Miracle" in the top five pretty much invalidates the lists.

Re: 5 Best/Worst Hockey Movies of All-Time
Does anybody remember a movie called "The Mystery of the Million Dollar Hockey Puck" from the 1970's? It would probably be placed in the Worst category, because of cornyness, although it is primarily a kids movie. It is about smugglers who place diamonds in a hollowed-out puck that eventually finds its way into use in a Canadiens game at the Forum. Danny Gallivan, the famous play-by-play man makes a cameo appearance in the movie.

Re: 5 Best/Worst Hockey Movies of All-Time
Goon? I wasn't very impressed with that movie. It had its laughs but Sean William Scott came off like he was actually mentally challenged and not just a lovable dumb guy.
No Miracle? That movie gives me goose bumps everytime I watch it, and that almost never happens to me. Youngblood was a good one full of 80s cheese. Slapshot was great too. Mystery Alaska was pretty good. Never saw the other two
Ha- the Love Guru. That movie was so bad I tried to repress the memory of renting it.
MVP- I actually rented this for the sole purpose of irritating my wife. It was my turn to pick and her last movie pick was some god-awful chick flick. Since she hates monkeys/chimps and Dunston Checks In was not available, so I went with this.
