Just had Bell's Double Cream Stout. Very smooth and very good. Also, finally found ST Oatmeal Stout. Will be enjoying that this weekend.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Purchased the early Spring variety pack from Pyramid (I've talked about them before... west coast brewery).
Discord Dark IPA - a little rough... might have been because I wasn't in an IPA mood
Red Ale - really good for a red ale
Honey Lager - meh
I typically really like Pyramid's stuff, but outside of the red, this pack was a rare miss by them.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
ST Imperial Choklat Stout
Mission Dark Seas Russian Imperial Stout
Had a huge dinner at Donato's tonight (which was so-so...bland food), so I don't even know if I should open one. Was planning to, in order to try for the fifth time to finish watching Man Behind the Sun without falling asleep.
Dude, I just totally triple threaded: Beer thread, Restaurant thread, Movie thread.

Yep. Unfortunately, the Jiggle in Monroeville was out of it. Did, though, also pick up a Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout and a 6 of Old Peculier. I'm sensing lunch drinking for the Pens game tomorrow.MWB wrote:ST Oatmeal Stout is delicious.

it sure is, I've noticed that its on tap at the brewery most of the time, but are the bottles seasonal? I haven't seen any around in a whileMWB wrote:ST Oatmeal Stout is delicious.

Not sure. Where I got it last week, it was not in the "seasonal" section, but I hadn't seen it there before.eddysnake wrote:it sure is, I've noticed that its on tap at the brewery most of the time, but are the bottles seasonal? Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
I had never tried the Founders Breakfast Stout, so I picked up a 4-pack last night at Giant Iggle...
I think the hardest thing for a stout with a chocolate flavor is getting the right chocolate flavor...and then not overdoing it. This is about as perfect as you can get. I think the oats balance out the chocolate/coffee flavors and make it infinitely drinkable...even at 8.3%.
Going to enjoy the other 2 tonight.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
For having an 8%+ ABV and doing the right amount of chocolate, Founders Breakfast nails it. Had it down at Roland's a few weeks ago on tap. Young's Double Chocolate Stout is another solid choice. They don't overdo the chocolate and the ABV isn't that high, somewhere around 5-5.5.%malkinshair wrote:I had never tried the Founders Breakfast Stout, so I picked up a 4-pack last night at Giant Iggle...

I've only seen this on tap and in the can, but never in a bottle.

Never seen Youngs in a bottle? Surprising.
Hoping I'll be able to get Kentucky Breakfast Stout this year.
