Its okay to root for the Caps to miss the playoffs, but not get a top 5 draft pick.

Whatever happens, happens pcm. I'm just glad to see the Caps at the bottom of the standings.pcm wrote:Its okay to root for the Caps to miss the playoffs, but not get a top 5 draft pick.
I hate these type of games though since your seeing two teams play you hate with a passion. I should of rooted for the Caps to win for divisional purposes, but I hate the Caps so if only I metor strike would of occured.

Maybe I used to drink too much in the past and am mis-remembering this, but wasn't Mike Green talked up as one of the best D in the league?

He was the next Paul Coffey. Now Karlsson is and Green just sucks, like the rest of the Caps. Who would have thought Semin was the glue holding that team together?columbia wrote:Maybe I used to drink too much in the past and am mis-remembering this, but wasn't Mike Green talked up as one of the best D in the league?

He had a pretty ridiculous three-year peak offensively...columbia wrote:Maybe I used to drink too much in the past and am mis-remembering this, but wasn't Mike Green talked up as one of the best D in the league?

Norris: 2nd, 2nd, 7th
All-Star Team: 1st, 2nd, 7th (so, two 1st Team and a "4th Team")
Hart: 13th (second among d-men), 14th (first among d-men)
His 31-goal season from the blueline is only the 17th such occurrence in NHL history and he's the only player to do it in fewer than 70 games ever. The other blueliners to net 30 in a season: Orr (x5), Coffey (x4), Potvin (x3), Bourque, Hatcher, Housley, Wilson
It will have had happened only other time in the past 25 years, and that was when Kevin Hatcher did in the anomalistically high scoring 92-93 season when he got 34 in 83 games.
Not saying I loved the guy (quite the opposite), but if you value offense from the blueline, this guy made a serious, serious case in his peak...

He could have seen, like, the first game ever.
But seriously, that is awesome and goes to show that hockey can and should be enjoyed by everyone once. Hockey in person is one of my favorite experiences.
