Started with New Holland's The Poet oatmeal stout. Good and very smooth. Next up is Ten Pin Porter from Ska.

Aventinus for my dad, Bud light for my father-in-law, and Saison Dupont for myself. Solid evening.

For anyone in the North Hills, it looks like Victory will be doing a sampling @ Save on Beer on McKnight Rd on Friday night.
Speaking of Victory, I acquired a wine bottle opener, so I should finally be able to bust open that Red Thunder this weekend.![Thumbs Up :thumb:](./images/smilies/thumbup.gif)

Took advantage of the after-Christmas sale at Wegman's, picked up a large bottle of Santa's Little Helper. Woo, this stuff is intense.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Finally got the cork off this damn Red Thunder (the bastard broke in half on me!).
This is interesting. I've never had the regular Porter, so I'm not sure how this compares exactly. I am definitely getting some of the wine overtones, but largely it is still a porter... and a tasty one at that.
I think I recall you saying you loved their Porter shaf... def reccommend seeking out a bottle of this Red Thunder to try.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
I tried Nugget Nectar last night for the first time after reading about it. It wasn't my cup of tea..too hoppy for my taste. But i enjoyed it more than troegs hopback ale (which I had on sunday and didnt care for either for the same reason) probably due to the citrus.
Also tried Bell's special double cream stout. First time I've ever had it before as I am trying to expand my taste in beers. Didn't know what to expect first time having a stout. Was very smooth..could taste hints of cocoa after the finish.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Nugget Nectar is my favorite non IPA or stout. I probably like it though because of all the hops.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
I received a set of Spiegelau glasses as a late Christmas gift this weekend. I've read very good things about them (that drinking a beer from a spiegelau glass is like drinking it in HD), and I have to say, I do notice a bit of a different flavor profile in this LFDM I am drinking right now. Right now this tastes like a fruity saison, and I am in love. So awesome.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
Based upon my experience with my Spiegelau tulip and the fact that I would like to find a way to enjoy IPAs but need balance in them to do so, I have been playing on procuring one of these glasses.

Shipping is $10, you want to split the shipping cost and do a single order.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
one thing I'll add is that Dogfish are very easy to work with in the event of a broken or chipped glass. Made a phone call, lady asked a few questions (order number and item) and had a new glass out to me 2-3 days later.

Re: GIVE ME YOUR BEER SUGGESTIONS!!
that is a nice glass. I got a tulip glass from Southern Tier that was supposed to be good for IPAs and imperials, but I may have to pick that up as well.

I don't really care for chalices.
Tulips and Snifters, a proper pint glass, and maybe a good wheat beer glass.
This is a great wheat beer glass to own.

On the subject of glasses. The Shaler Giant Eagle is giving away a free Unibrou tulip with the purchase of two 750 ML Unibroue bottles right now.

Tried the new budweiser black crown. Not bad but has your standard macrobrew taste.
