St. Johns Sea Dogs product. Was there with Despres. Should be a really solid player.

Vanek ties it up with one second left in Buffalo after scoring another in the 3rd. I wouldn't want to be in the MTL locker room after this one.

JT Miller emulating Mario Lemieux. He scored his first goal on his first shot on his first shift.

So Leland Irving. Didn't really see much action (as previously mentioned, the Jackets can't sustain offensive pressure unless it's a PP, and even then, it's not very good). Ate up a lot of shots on the rush, didn't give up huge rebounds, but also got burned glove-side on 2 of them. Definitely saveable shots if he puts his glove in better position. Also gave up a PP goal that he really had no chance on.
I'd say he played well with what was thrown at him, but the glove hand was an issue.

I will also say, Jarome Iginla was invisible last night, and not in a good way

Thanks mrandall for the report on Irving. I was going to call him up in my fantasy league...actually, I was gonna call up both him and Mrazek and decided against it. But I probably would have been warranted in doing so...
Iginla is a notoriously slow starter. By the time he revs it up the Flames will be cleaning out their lockers...

It'll be interesting to see how he plays against a team who can actually put some pressure on him. The 25 shots that the Jackets had is a misleading stat because the majority of them were thrown on goal from wide of the faceoff dots or behind them (or both). The most action he saw in the 3rd was when the Jackets were killing a penalty and were trying to shoot the puck at him when they cleared.

Lovejoy probably sees Jagr in his nightmares. They are definitely giving him a chance. Ducks look lost defensively early on.

Maybe it was affected by the lockout schedule, but I liked the days when NHLN showed all of the Hockey Day in Canada coverage.
