Yeah, in the summer I think. Either that or they just timed him skating a lap around the rink, when he didn't finish, they had second thoughts...MRandall25 wrote:He had knee surgery sometime in the past year, or so I heard.

Giving him the "we sucked with you, we can suck without you" speech was probably a factor.canaan wrote:I guess pk got that long term deal he was looking for lol

Re: Around the League: Transactions
Good for Strait. Still think he would have been better than Engellend and Lovejoy but that still puts him at #7 on depth behind Despres and Bortuzzo.
And if Shero goes and sign Lovejoy or Engellend to three year extensions I will vomit, with the depth we have that has to get NHL experience they would be totally unecessary. Bortuzzo yes, since he will be 24 this year but Lovejoy and Engellend will be 29 and 31 by seasons end. No need to sign them to anything but 1 year deals.
Strait though, at 25, that's a very good deal for both sides.

Thanks for the saving me the keystrokes. Every word of it is spot on from my perspective.DelPen wrote:Good for Strait. Still think he would have been better than Engellend and Lovejoy but that still puts him at #7 on depth behind Despres and Bortuzzo.

Washington looking at Luongo? Vancouver scouts at the game yesterday and rumors abound.

Rupp to Minnesota for Darroll Powe and Nick Palmieri, according to Bob McKenzie and Michael Russo.
Confirmed by the Wild's PR people.

2 suspects for veteran presence and toughness. Wild win this one.

Re: Around the League: Transactions
Both teams win or lose really...Rupp isn't doing much in New York and Palmieri isn't in the NHL...Powe is a dime-a-dozen PK winger...

Wasn't Palmieri waived recently? Or was it the other one?

Re: Around the League: Transactions
Advantage: Minnesota. Palmieri is a bad egg. He didn't report at the beginning of the season to the AHL team.
I'd take Rupp's leadership and toughness over these 2.
