Re: Other NHL games
Glad I'm able to catch this CBJ-Stars 3rd period.
And yeah mikey, that save was insane.

Re: Other NHL games
It's kinda sad: There's only 10,500 at the CBJ game, and they sound louder than the CEC crowds.

Canes give up a back breaking goal with around 2 minutes left to break the tie. Oof.

Yup...was thinking the same thing after I said "top 10 goalie" he gives up a noodle scratcher from a not-so-impossible angle...ends up being the winner...MRandall25 wrote:And right after I type that, he gives up a crap goal from Prospal behind the goal line

Meh, I watched that game and I thought they sounded like a average crowd. Nothing special.MRandall25 wrote:It's kinda sad: There's only 10,500 at the CBJ game, and they sound louder than the CEC crowds.

Re: Other NHL games
watching Avs-Oilers because I enjoy watching the young kids in Edmonton and wanted to see if David Jones had changed at all for Colorado.
In the first period, twice saw Jones peel back away from finishing checks on the defenseman behind the net. That won't work for any hockey coach, much less the style the Penguins play under Bylsma and Shero.
The defensive zone coverage by the Avalanche is pretty suspect, which was telling on the Oilers second goal as Jordan Eberle had all the time and space he wanted to fire a wrist shot by Varlamov.
Avs will start second period on PP.

Chad Johnson (not Ochocinco), a goalie prospect for Phoenix, pitching a shutout in his first game vs Nashville.

Former Pens prospect (fire rs!) that I think was traded and netted us the pick that got Andy Bathgate (the garbage one, not the HHOFer of long ago) and Bathgate got us this: my reaction to our scouting staff picking a player that couldn't even really hack it in juniors...bhaw wrote:Chad Johnson (not Ochocinco), a goalie prospect for Phoenix, pitching a shutout in his first game vs Nashville.

Re: Other NHL games
The Oilers trio of Hall, Eberle and Nugent-Hopkins is amazing when they are all feeling it at once. Eberle has sick sniper skills.

Was at the game and the Preds looked like they were a cross between skating in quicksand and muffing the puck. Johnson wasn't tested all that many times (22 Preds shots, I believe) and the Yotes supported him really well.
Never really took note of it in the past but wow, there were a ton of empty seats in the house tonight. Either that or Manti Teo's girlfriend cloned herself about 6000 times.

Re: Other NHL games
Predators in the midst of a 7 game road trip. That's one helluva way to start the shortened season and I also question how the NHL scheduling gurus thought a 7 game road trip for any team during a full season even seems OK.Orlando Penguin wrote: Was at the game and the Preds looked like they were a cross between skating in quicksand and muffing the puck. The good news is the Flyers trail. The bad news is the Rangers don't.

Dang, Florida is terrible. Outscored 23-5 in their last five games.

Does anyone know if Doc Emrick has Parkinson's? Looked like he was shaking a bit when doing that pregame thing.
