Re: Around the League: Transactions
I don't get Philly's obsession with Boucher. He was amazingly bad in his last stint there (even for a Flyers G in the playoffs he was bad... I probably could have scored on him).

I think you read "DarrenDreger_" as opposed to "DarrenDreger", because a quick search gave me this:llipgh2 wrote:I have Dreger's real, verified account.

I don't follow this person. I follow @DarrenDreger No trailing _ after the name, I follow the real guy.MRandall25 wrote:

So if this imposter is showing up in my timeline, it isn't because I'm following him.

The Westgarth to Carolina thing makes sense in that he is married to Bill Cowher's daughter, and the Westgarths make Raleigh their home. <shrugs>

Re: Around the League: Transactions
We probably should have done this. Fistric isn't God's gift to hockey, but it solves our #6 issue and he clears creases...nice job by Edmonton. For Dallas, this probably means Brenden Dillon has made the team...an undrafted free agent from the WHL that we could have had if we had scouts in the WHL...Gaucho wrote:Dallas Stars @DallasStars

Carolina also saves a few bucks - which seems to be the point of the Boucher deal as well. They also didn't have a designated punching bag either...Digitalgypsy66 wrote:The Westgarth to Carolina thing makes sense in that he is married to Bill Cowher's daughter, and the Westgarths make Raleigh their home. <shrugs>

I'm surprised the board wasn't up in arms that we didn't end up with Thomas Hickey. We value the CSS number pre-draft more than the actual draft number? Wake up, LGP!

Wait... we don't have scouts in the W? Why do we love drafting from there?mikey287 wrote:We probably should have done this. Re: Around the League: Transactions
We don't love drafting from there. I'm not sure who is in charge there now, but I'm assuming it's changed a bit in the last few years. Before Morrow, Pouliot, Uher in 2011 and 2012, we didn't pick from the WHL since the 6th round of 2004 (Moises Gutierrez) who was a nobody even then...like Sweden and Finland, it appears to be an under-scouted territory for us...because there isn't a shortage of talent there (both draftable and left undrafted) that we seem to be ducking around for various reasons. I just hope that we have the proper, competent personnel to cover this ground is all...
