funny story about Group Sounds...

back in like 2000, I used to frequent the Superchunk message board, as well as be on the RFTC mailing list. I got a message on the RFTC mailing list about their drummer, Adam Willard, quitting. i posted something about it on the Superchunk message board the same day, as the 2 bands share a lot of fans. later that day, Jon Wurster, the drummer from Superchunk, replied to the post saying that he hadn't heard that, and it sucks because RFTC was one of his favorite bands. A week later, it was announced that Jon was filling in on tracks on the new record until they found a permanent drummer.

so yes... I am personally responsible for Group Sounds. you're welcome.

i will say this about RFTC... you had to earn your fandom of this band. until they started putting out the All Systems Go collections, like half of their entire catalog would have only been released on limited edition 7"s. If you only went by their studio releases, you would be missing out on a SUBSTANTIAL chunk of their work as a whole.
