You'll want to locate Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout.
I'll keep my eyes open for it. :thumb:
Do you know of anywhere around 'burgh to get it?
I'd bet now that we are moving into stout season you'll be able to find it at some of the Giant Eagles with better beer selection. Good bottle shops like D's, Beer Nutz, One For the Road, House of 1000 Beers (I only know North/East bottle shop options).

Not bad, but nothing unique about it.

Blue Moon Winter Abbey Ale..... nothing great about it. It wasn't bad, it was drinkable, but I expected more after having the Spiced Amber Ale

that's quite a lineup. Don't like the idea of driving that far after a few beers though. :(

I don't know, the 2011 Pumking might be worth it by itself.

Sharp Edge had a Utopia night sometime last year before either Christmas or New Years. Possible they might have something similar this year. I'd give them a call.

Thats quite a selection, is that place always packed? I wonder having that many beers on tap if it ever becomes an issue moneywise? Seems like that's a lot to have for a fast turnaround

Those are some great prices for craft brews. I'd imagine that helps them sell pretty well.

Went to Whole Foods tonight. Apparently Left Hand has released their milk stout, but it's actually served nitro style (in the bottles). Very excited to try it tonight, since nitro is really the only way to drink that stuff.

So Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout was mentioned, and go me wondering... what are the best Oatmeal Stouts? Samuel Smiths is #1 on my list. I've hard Barney Flats, but it was a long time ago, need to have again. Had one last week that I've now now forgotten the name of. Rogue is good. Any other favorites?

I found this on Beer Advocate...

It's in Ipswich, MA, so I'm assuming they have a limited reach, despite the high number of reviews on BA. Next time I visit my dad in Boston I might need to pick some up.

Like meecrofilm said, the prices are great, and that's even after I think they've actually raised their draft prices in the past couple months. I am usually only there during happy hour and its not that busy. The couple of times I've gone later for a bottle its usually hopping.

It is strange that a place like that could exist in New Kensington, but I guess it works. They do a great job of getting new stuff in (bottles and drafts) pretty frequently. They have glass giveaways at least once a week (buy the draft and keep the breweries glass for that beer) -- they usually go pretty quick. Also do a good job of cleaning their tap lines -- you don't get leftover hops flavor on delicate beers or anything like that.

I don't think I've had many more than those and the staple crafts -- Great Lakes, Bell's, Tröegs (for us in PA). Speaking of, what a solid brewery Tröegs is.

Perhaps I was expecting a much maltier flavor.

It's perfectly drinkable (and even has an unexpected sour finish), but I can't say that I would get it again.
